Hi everyone, I am Maeve Clinton, the Guidance Counselor at Big Sky Discovery Academy for the 2023-2024 school year. It is my privilege to work with your children. It is my goal to maximize student success for all students! As the school counselor, I will work with all age/grade levels in the classroom, in small groups, and individually.
A little bit about me– I attended the University of Vermont and earned my bachelor’s degree in Social Work with minors in Special Education, Community Development, and Community Entrepreneurship. Right after I graduated, I continued my education at The Ohio State University (Go BUCKS!) and earned my master’s degree in Social Work. I have experience in community-based, outpatient, Inpatient, and medical therapy. In my free time, I like to ski and hang out with my fiancé and dog (Tito).
“School Counselors help students focus on academic, career, and social/emotional development so they can achieve success in school and are prepared to lead fulfilling lives as responsible members of society.”
By law, I am (as are teachers) required to contact child protective services if I believe a student is being harmed, is going to harm themself, or going to harm someone else.
Below you can access the referral forms. This form MUST be completed so I can work with your child. Intermediate and High School students are able to self-refer if they would like- this will be reviewed with them! Teachers are also able to refer; however, the expectation is that they communicate with parents prior to a referral being placed!
