Mask Update

Feb 4, 2022 | COVID-19

Dear Parents:

Thank you all for the care, commitment and courage you have shown in what has proved to be a great first half of the school year. I know a lot of you have questions about the current mask mandate at the school.

We continue to monitor the current status of COVID cases in our local community and across the United States.  As the Head of Schools, I am actively participating in a monthly COVID Update call with other business and community leaders in Big Sky and Gallatin County.  Based on the information that has been provided to me in those conversations and looking at the social and emotional wellbeing of our students, we will be changing our current mask mandate on masks for staff and students.

Starting on Monday, February 7th, masks will be made optional for all staff and students.  We will continue with not permitting parents on campus and are asking that you still remain outside the gate at both arrival and dismissal.

It is important for us to slowly start the process of returning the school environment to what it was pre-pandemic.  As we navigate this process, we will continue to follow the policies and procedures currently in place should a staff member or student test positive for COVID.

We appreciate your continued support of Discovery Academy.  Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me directly.

Regards,

Scott Poloff, M.Ed.
