Little Explorer Camps

Discovery’s summer program takes full advantage of the beautiful summer days! Each week’s theme is designed to fully engage students’ love for nature while supporting their academic, social, and emotional needs. Small and intimate group sizes ensure an individualized focus on learning, building friendships, and quality care! Little Explorer enrollment is open to children ages 3-6.

June 19-22: Dino Days

What is a paleontologist? What did dinosaurs eat? Where did they live? What is a fossil? A hands-on discovery to everything Dino!

June 26-29: Junior Naturalist

Each day children will engage in nature projects and games to explore the meaning of being a Naturalist. We will learn about plants, animals, and conservation efforts to appreciate and protect our planet.

August 14 – 17: Fishing Around

Dip into fish anatomy and trout identification. Learn about fish habitat, the water cycle, stream etiquette and fly fishing basics.

Hours & Rates

Monday – Thursday, 9:00am – 3:00pm, $210/week, includes two daily snacks and end of camp pizza party.

College Essay

College Essay Boot Camp

In this one-week boot camp, high school seniors will address many of the tasks to prepare their college applications.  Students will participate in activities such as essay critique, brainstorming topics, peer editing, and 1:1 personalized editing with our College Writing Coach. Workshop outcomes include:

  • Complete the Common Application
  • Understand and create a testing schedule (if needed)
  • Draft letters of request for recommendations and send them
  • Write the main college essay and two possible supplementary essays

 Count Me In Math Camp for Girls

For girls entering 1st – 3rd Grades – Beads & Bar Graphs

For girls entering 3rd-6th Grades – Prisms & Perfect Squares

Count Me In is a math camp program designed just for girls.  Outside of the traditional classroom, Count Me In sets girls up for success in math by starting young….and making it fun!  Each camp is taught by a certified teacher.

Reading with Harper the Dog

Individual or Small Group Sessions

Kelly Ryan, MS, LCPC Intern, and her certified therapy dog, Harper, bring a unique opportunity for Big Sky students to build interest in reading and increase reading skills.  By incorporating Harper into the sessions, Kelly finds increased motivation for reading and decreased stigma or judgement that may be felt by a child struggling with his or her reading skills.

A series of 4 workshops designed to help prepare high school seniors and recent grads for living independently as young adults. Workshops are led by local professionals and include Personal Finance, Stress Management, Nutrition on a Budget, and Legal Concerns.

Youth Entrepreneurs Project

JULY 10 – AUGUST 10

For youth entering 5th – 8th grades. Participants will learn basic economic and entrepreneurial principles and then apply their conceptual knowledge in ongoing projects to operate a business and sell goods at the Big Sky Farmer’s Market.
